Do justice

Public Policy

Justice ministries equip, encourage, and empower Texas Baptists to enage in informed advocacy on issues affecting their churches and communities.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Proverbs 31:8-9

Public Policy Issues

While advocating for the oppressed and speaking truth to power, we provide information on public policy issues such as Racial Justice, Criminal Justice, Education, Gambling, and Immigration, so that the world we live in can reflect Biblical truth. If you are interested in learning more about a specific topic, submit an inquiry request here.

Faithful Response

Our team is happy to provide you with a biblical perspective on the challenging public policy issues of the day. If you would like to host a workshop, conference, or have a guest speaker come to discuss a particular topic, please contact us at john.litzler[at]txb.org.

Advocacy Day

Public policy touches the lives of all Texans and Advocacy Day equips Texas Baptists to take a biblical approach to public policy and advocacy. Advocacy Day provides an opportunity to learn more about how public policy is a tool for loving for our neighbors, pursuing public justice, and raising the interests of the vulnerable.

Each legislative session the Christian Life Commission hosts our Texas Baptists pastors in Austin, TX, and equips them to advocate with their area representatives. Attendees have the opportunity to attend workshops, connect with other advocates, and meet with their elected officials.
